Hamaguchi's student works like PASSION, his trilogy of documentaries (co-dir. With Sakai Ko) filming conversations of survivors of the 2011 tsunami in northeast Japan, have put him in the spotlight. He now lives in Kobe to work with non-professionals through acting workshops and other non-commercial creative projects.

First feature by Edwin, the first Indonesian filmmaker to be nominated for the Golden Bear at Berlin Film Festival (with Postcards from the Zoo). A kaleidoscopic picture across the experiences of Linda and people around her, all with obsessive agendas of their own. Badminton, an escaped pig, a gay couple, a singing blind dentist, what it means to be Chinese in Indonesia.

Named after genetically modified fluorescent rabbits, this is a kaleidoscopic mix of fiction, documentary, diary notes and internet videos. The filmmaker and his protagonist wonder what biotechnology, cosmetic surgery, surveillance, avatars, extreme piercings and new religion can mean to us. A girl who is harshly bullied at school cuts open frogs, experiments with her mother's goldfish and even administers thallium to her mother!

Cahaya heads from her rural conservative home to Jakarta in search of a father who she hasn't seen since age 4. But the man she meets is wearing a red miniskirt and selling himself to other men on the streets! 12 days after March 11, 2011. We accompany the filmmaker's trepidation and confusion as he experiences the tsunami-hit coastal towns of Sendai and Ishinomaki. The personal camera without any journalistic mission recorded people's lives at a tragic moment, now a time capsule of emotion.

Based on factual research, the veteran director tells real stories of disillusioned teenagers who are abducted and made to wear blindfolds on their way to be indoctrinated by fanatics.
